Patrick Dentinger is President & CEO of Absorption Systems, a pharmaceutical research organization that employs more than 100 scientists and staff in three research locations in the United States and Central America. Absorption Systems specializes in the early stages of drug development and develops tools to better predict human outcomes before a new drug candidate enters clinical trials. Absorption Systems is known throughout the pharmaceutical industry as a market leader whose greatest contribution is its success in translational research. Through the use of CellPort, one of its flagship technologies, Absorption Systems has succeeded in making some clinical trials unnecessary by replacing them with laboratory-based human cell assays. Mr. Dentinger received his B.S. in pharmacology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. At the beginning of his career, he worked for several pharmaceutical companies, where he started in the laboratory and eventually gravitated toward the business side of the industry. In 2002, he and his business partner Dr. Ismael Hidalgo were recognized as Entrepreneurs of the Year by the accounting firm Ernst & Young. In addition to Absorption Systems, Mr. Dentinger serves on the State Policy Committee of the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Association, is a member of the Corporate Advisory Board at West Chester University, and is Chairman of the non-profit organization The International Institute for Innovation in Health. He resides in Garnet Valley, PA with his wife and four children, two of whom are current students at Archmere.
