  • D. Jeffery Liu Ph.D., MBA, MSDirector/Clinical Development Head, ID/IIDPH, RDGSK

    Dr. Liu has been working at GlaxoSmithKline for 10 years, and currently serve as Director and Clinical Development head, Clinical R&D. Previously, he worked at Wyeth (now Pfizer) and Forest Labs (now Allegan) with increasing responsibilities. His past 18 years' industry experiences include pharmaceutical, preclinical, and clinical development of medical products with participating in dozens of drug development programs. He made key contribution in launching 8 marketed medicinal products and involving a dozen of late stage clinical programs. He authored a couple of FDA/EMA-accepted BA/BE Biowaiver applications and INDs/NDAs. His expertise include clinical study design and development, advanced PK/PD modeling & simulation, In vitro-In vivo correlation, innovative drug delivery and formulation development, etc. Prior to coming to the industry, he completed his post-doctoral fellowships in Pharmaceutical Sciences/Biotechnology at School of Pharmacy Uni. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He obtained a PhD in Biochemistry/Immunology, a MS in computer sciences, and a BS in Chemistry. He also obtained a MBA (in Finance and Project Management) from SUNY-Stony Brook. He has authored 2 patents and more than 80 publications to the literature and presented many keynote speeches at pharmaceutical conferences. He is the adjunct professors at State University of New York at Old Westbury and Tianjin University School of Pharmacy.
